Formula: Bulk material volume is area × installed depth. BuildGauge converts inches of depth to feet and cubic feet to cubic yards. Some tools also show approximate tons or bag equivalents.
Worked example: Example: 100 ft² covered 3 in deep equals 25 ft³ before extra material, or about 0.93 yd³.
Before you buy: Loose and compacted volumes can differ, and material density varies with product, moisture and stone type. Weight values are approximate; use the supplier’s density for ordering by weight.
